800 A.D. - 1050 A.D.

The eddas indicate that the two got on quite well for the most part.  In the Vikings, the MacThoy found kindred sprits.  Often referring to the Northmen as "cousins."

 

 Sadly, the relationship came to an end at the turn of the First Millennium with the arrival of St Olaf and his conversion of the Vikings to Christianity.

Their former companions spurned them.  The MacThois were run off from the camps.  The old stories of the practical jokes the MacThoys were wont to play were twisted to become a form of torment rather than compliment.

It brought to  a close a unique time in the saga of the MacThoys, one which has yet to be repeated.
